This page explains the cookies and similar storage Gostico uses on gostico.com and in the admin/owner panels, and how to control them.
1. Strictly necessary (always on)
These keep the site and admin panel working and can't be switched off - they don't require consent under GDPR/ePrivacy because the service can't function without them.
- Session cookie (e.g.
PHPSESSID) - keeps you logged in to the admin/owner panel, and remembers a guest's table after scanning a QR code so Call Waiter knows which table is calling. Expires when you close your browser or log out. - CSRF token - stored in your session, protects admin panel forms from cross-site request forgery. Not a separate cookie.
2. Analytics (only with your consent)
On our marketing site, blog, and signup pages only - never on a restaurant's own menu page or in the admin panel - we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use Gostico. These only load after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner; clicking "Decline," or not deciding, means they're never set.
_ga,_ga_*- set by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors and sessions. See Google's cookie policy for details.
3. Local storage (not a cookie, but similar)
We save your cookie-banner choice (accepted/declined) in your browser's local storage under the key gostico_cookie_consent, so we don't ask again on every page. This isn't sent to our server.
4. Managing your choice
You can change your mind at any time:
You can also block or delete cookies entirely through your browser's own settings - doing so may affect analytics but won't stop you from using Gostico's admin panel or a restaurant's menu, since neither depends on non-essential cookies.
